Porch Spruce Up

I guess I spend too much time on
 Pinterest and decided to spruce
up my porch.  This is BEFORE...

Check out the FREE chairs my husband
brought home for me!  These were pricey chairs
that were in good condition.  Just dry and weathered!

Don't they look amazing after a few can's of Thomson's
Water seal with stain in it.
I bought new cushions on sale.
I'm quite happy with a new cozy spot to sit and relax.
I love the chairs to go in the space
courtesy of my husband!

A frog and a lily pad bird bath...

This probably was a bit inspired by the poor dead bull frog
that I had to fish out of my goldfish pond.
He was a bit greedy and choked on a mouse.
 No kidding!
So I thought I would try
something different with my clay!
I have never sculpted a frog.
The thin toes feet on the frog were the hardest.
I plan to fine tune them when the clay dries.
This project used a lot of clay.  Probably more
than any project I have made so far.
It is pretty large at a minimum of 15" across.
I like it... and if no one wants to buy it
I can see it going next to my pond in the future...

Trash to Treasure

Just sharing my cast iron urns...
I wanted some urns like these, just not
enough to go out and spend a hundred bucks on two
of them.  I really could find a better way to
spend a hundred bucks....
like towards a vet bill.
So was really happy to find these
on the side of the road in the trash!
I'm happy with my plant combo that I planted.
I can't wait to see them fill out as the summer
gets underway. The urns looked
pretty rough when I found them.
Rusty with chipping paint...
I wire brushed all the loose
paint.  Then I spray painted
them with rustoleum.
After that I layered many
layers of acrylic paint to
get a look I was happy with.
I then sealed it with a
clear spray paint.
They each have a different design on the rim.

I like how they look by the green house.

One persons trash sure looks
nice in my yard!
