Birds & Butterlies

Here it is all done and glazed.
I love how the glaze came out.
The Leaves are something new I tried
in layering glazes.
See how there are brown tints one the edges.
I love it!
And the branch coloring came out just
how I wanted it!  Now a real
bird can sit on this branch and take a drink
when the bird bath is filled with water.

My little male sparrow...

A hanging butterfly feeder or waterer
for anyone's butterfly garden.
They need a drink
also and here they can safely
get one without drowning!

Another one.... Look for more to come.
They are a pretty addition to any garden.
They can be hung on a sheppards hook and placed
in the center of your flower garden.

2021 Easter Decorations

At first I wasn't going to decorate
for Easter and then I changed
my mind and made a bunch of new
 items.  Since we are hosting
Easter dinner I think it should
look festive. This was a door
wreath but I didn't like how it came,
 so I ripped some things
out and added more flowers and
I think it will be a pretty
table centerpiece.  I just have
to add a table cloth come and set
the table on Easter.
I also added  spring flowers to the garland
 on my fire place.
It looks pretty lit up doesn't it?

and during the day not lit up....

I also created this little bun in a basket
with twinkle lights.

I misplaced some of my Easter tree decorations
in the house that I made
and can't seem to find where I put them.
So I finished my
decoupaged eggs and they filled up
my Easter tree nicely.

Usually I just used branches in a vase but this
year I made a permanent Easter tree that I
can just use every year.

I added some color to my dining room mantel.
At night it also lights up.

And Lastly my coffee table.
So that's it for my Easter decorations
Happy Easter!

Flowers in March...

A few new items I have completed.  This white
bowl with brown clay will be available just
as soon as I can get it boxed up and posted on Etsy.
I love the soft neutral details in this bowl
I think it would be a pretty addition on any table.

I was asked to make a custom
paint pallet for a gift for an artist
in Grand Blanc, MI
It's always so nerve wracking boxing
these delicate pieces up.  I will only ship
out priority mail as it seems
my pieces fair better with priority
verse bulk or cheaper shipments.
I sure hope the artist receiving it
is happy with their new pallet.
Another Artist in Maryland requested a custom
pallet.  She stated she like organic flowing
shapes and wanted an odd number
of paint wells.  I asked what her
favorite flower was and she said an Iris.
So I added a dwarf Iris to her pallet.

I am hoping that my artistic creations
inspire other artist to
 make lots of "good things"
and make them smile as them create!

A Fun Sunday!

This Sunday I decided to do a  mini craft party with my family. With Easter around the corner I wanted to decoupage Easter eggs for my Easter tree.

Similar to these.

So I set up all the supplies...
Everyone brought different napkins to use
With wine, snacks and crafts...

My sister and niece

My Mom and Daughter In Law in a few months

These are some of the finished eggs that we made!

My artistic & adorable niece!
This is my Easter tree that I made this weekend,
before it is decorated with Eggs.

A simple plan turns fancy...

I started this bird bath with a plan
of keeping it simple so it
would be a lower price point
item in my shop for people
that don't want to spend a lot.
However as you can see I got into it and
it became a more elaborate piece.
I sculpted a clay branch with vines around it.
Then I began sculpting a little sparrow to sit on it.....
I have to hallow out the inside
so that the walls of this piece are thinner,
and it does not explode in the kiln.

Isn't he Cute?
I wasn't sure how the branch would dry,
with it being so delicate and detailed.
 So this was a experiment
to see what would happen.
I attached the bird to the side
of the bowl and moved his
head sideways.  I also
added some little feet.
Ta Da!  all complete, and the
birds can stand on the branch to
get water.  It is now ready to dry.

It survived drying and the first firing fine.

  Now on to glazing.
