Hanka Hanka Burning Love!

Hank was kind of an unexpected
surprise that kind of fell
into our house.

I never expected so much personality
in such a little guy.
He's actually smart too.

I changed his name from Sparky to Hank.
and he knows his name is Hank,
He comes when I call him and loves
his big bunny family.

Hazel acts like a mother and he
always runs to her first.  She licks him
and he always gives her a loud purring sound.

I noticed a large bump by his right rear leg.
He lost some weight so it was more
visible.  I took him to the Vet thinking
maybe it was an abscess.

The vet didn't sound too promising
because of the location of it. I had
them do a biopsy on it just so I
would know.

I was pretty much resigned to it being
cancer due to him loosing weight,
He is a piggy, and eats  a lot
for his size.  I have no idea
why he would lose weight
other than thinking it was illness.

So when they called last night and said
all 3 samples were benign - I was thrilled.

Oh and the reason for this posts title is that
My nick name for him is
"Hanka, Hanka burning Love"
He just makes me laugh!

I am so thankful that I said yes
to him! I never in a million
years expected so much out of
a little guinea pig that was
looking for a new home
He is one in a million!

Available ...

Besides decorating my house for Christmas I
have been going through some of the items I have leftover
from the Art Market and getting them ready to post
on Etsy.  Here are a few of the items.
These bowls are large 15" across and
all the glazes are food safe.  These
large bowls fit perfectly in a bird bath stand
I have one that I ordered on Amazon for $25...

Slowly but surely I will get to it after work...
It does take some time to photograph them
and find the right box for each item, and weigh
everything in order
to list the mailing fee's.

Not all of these are posted yet on Etsy

Plus I have more to photograph, but if
you see something you like that is not listed yet.
Send me a message to get the price
and the size of the item.

These are antique plaster mold Santa's.

I do have some lower cost jewelry items
and ornaments...

I have a few different types of
rabbit ornaments like the one above.

This one is Sold and went to Texas,
but I just wanted to show that
Custom orders are a possibility if
you are not in a hurry as it will take
a long time to dry and 2 firings.

as I will post items first on there before I
do on this blog or Etsy
or follow me on Instagram

The Mistletoe Market

Last weekend I took part in my first Artist Market.
I can't lie...I was a bit nervous prepping all my wares for the Sale and coming
up with how I wanted to display everything.

I am really pleased at how everything came out and
how it all looked displayed.  I received many compliments on how my booth looked.
Which made me really happy.

I sold many things. I did much better
at this sale than I anticipated.

A few items sold before the event even opened.
My Bee and Butterfly Waterers
did well and sold fast. I will make more of those.
My ornaments and jewelry did well too.

I have a few items left that I will preview
here and on My FB Page
if you are interested
in buying anything email me!

I didn't know what to expect and was happy
to meet many nice people.  I really
appreciated their kind compliments and
appreciation of my creations!

I am really thankful for my husband's
help!  He helped me so much! Lugging and
moving all my stuff and just supporting me
in my venture.  I also appreciated all my friends
& family too who stopped by and supported
me.  Sometimes it can be uncomfortable to try
new things but with good people around you
it makes it so much easier and enjoyable.
Thanks Everyone!

Working on a Dream...

I have been working really hard lately
to create new things for my
art business.  Anyone who knows
me, knows I have been doing Art my whole life.

I would have loved to be able to do it
as my full time job but reality is that
I want a retirement pension
and health insurance too.

My art career has always been my
side thing.  I am seeing retirement
getting closer in my future.
I figure there is no time
like the present to
expand on creating & sharing
my Art Inspirations.

So I am trying different things to see what works...
I am very grateful for my friends that
that share my posts
to help my art dream get visibility!
There are so many talented people
out there creating art.

I make things because I like to.
It brings me happiness and I enjoy
learning new things

Plus if I can make someone happy
with something I made
that is a great thing.

I think it is special to have something
that someone made. Something that there is
only one of in the whole world!

That is the whole goal of life anyway right?
Figure out what makes you
happy and then do it...

That is my plan!

A Few Renovations

I have been working on renovating a
few things I want to use to display
some of my pottery at this artist market
I am doing next month.  Above is one of  2 urns
that someone tossed out. I just happened to
be driving to work and stopped and
loaded these two into the back of my truck.
Cha Ching!
I'm thrilled though, because
I have wanted
urns like this for a while.
New they are pricey.
So FREE is awesome!

The paint was peeling on the metal,
so I took a wire brush to them.

Then I spray painted several coats of rust-oleum
on them to protect the metal.

After that I brushed on several layers of colors
of acrylic paint.
I was going for the look of an
aged cement planter.
Then I sprayed clear protector over them,

and Wala!  I think they look like that now.

These are the inspiration for my next renovation.

I forgot to take a before...
but this was a garage sale find.
Someone had slapped flat white paint
on it very messily.  I was not pretty.
So this is my repaint job.
It will sit on top of a table to display
some of my smaller bowls.

I did have some bad luck in one kiln firing.
This lovely bowl is no more!
I have a full kiln that I will open tonight.
Fingers crossed that there will be better
results than above.
